Wedding Catering: Buffet Or Service

Another conundrum for soon-to-be married couples is the dilemma of having servers versus having a buffet for the reception. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, so let’s look at both sides before you make your decision.

At the buffet table

The first and most obvious upshot of having a buffet style dinner at the wedding is the opportunity for all of the guests to choose what they want to eat. This way everyone is happy and they can have as much or as little as they want. There can be multiple things for various dietary restrictions as well as a multitude of side dishes for the vegetarian that hates getting pasta at every wedding.

But the downside of the buffet table is that things that are popular will run out. If you do not plan ahead for shortages, then you may have guests that didn’t get what they really wanted to eat. In terms of movement, the buffet table can be tricky. The bride may have troubles moving up there and might be afraid to spill anything on her dress, as other may be as well. Trying to find ways to serve items without having a large opportunity for spillage will help to avoid any dry cleaning bills.

The service is excellent

Having servers for the reception is a classy and easy way to keep everyone happy during the reception. Not only will no one have to move until the dance, but the servers can also attend to any problems without the couple even knowing about them. Drinks can also be served, which is wonderful for everyone—no more needing to get up and down during dinner.

On the other hand, this excellent service does come with a price tag. It will be costlier to have staff waiting on the guests, especially with more guests. You will also take the chance of the staff being nice to the head table and not to the rest of the guests. The best advice is to interview each staff member as well before the reception.

Both buffets and service are great options for reception dinners. If you’re looking for something a little more casual, then the buffet will be great, but for the more formal occasion, service is best. You may want to stop and consider your guests at this point. If they’re older and don’t move around well, service is a great way to keep them comfortable.

Wedding Foods!

Weddings. What a fun time of your life. Today I am really focusing on the food that you should be serving at your Wedding. The food is such an important part of your Wedding that everything about the food should be considered very carefully.

First, let us focus on the season that the Wedding will be played out in. What if your Wedding day is in New York City in November? We’ll that’s easy. Here is the list of my suggested foods that are appropriate for that time of year. For your main plate, Steaks is what first comes to mind. Its cold outside and people want some good meat to warm them up. Filet Minion or any kind of steak that fits your fancy as well as your checkbook. For side dishes, pastas sound best, steamed vegetables, especially broccoli and cauliflower with a bit of melted cheese over it. Or you can have baked potatoes with a bar for lots of different toppings for your potatoes. Garlic and French breads should always accompany a dinner like this as well as a salad. When having Steak, both of these items should not be disregarded. And with a splendid dinner like this, just having cake for dessert is not enough. Top it off with some awesome homemade shakes by getting a Vendor that will help make those shakes. People would really love to have a frosty shake after their Steak dinner. Yum!

Ok, so that’s a Winter Wedding menu. How about a Summer time Wedding in Boston? Easy. Have some type of beautiful seafood as your main dish. Lobster or Mahi Mahi would be my pick. Make sure that the caterers you get make the dish look beautiful. With seafood you always have to make the dish beautiful because unlike steak where it takes up the whole plate, seafood leaves you room to decorate. For the side dishes, rolls, cold pasta salads, cold fruit salads and coleslaw. Those fit nicely with the seafood main dish. And while you’re at it making everything fit together so nicely, have a nice lemonade serve people with their meal, it will add the finishing touch.

What about an Arizona Spring Wedding? I’ve seen so many ideas for this one. I think an awesome main dish would be white and brown rice with Swedish Meatballs on top. Swedish Meatballs are very different and still light but heavy enough to make a meal. Serve with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. And as a sidekick to either the main dish or the side dishes, Crepes are a huge house favorite. Get a professional Crepe maker to make crepes all night with all different kinds of different tastes to wrap it in. Make sure you have a Professional Crepe maker to wrap all your things like meats and heavier items as well as whipped creams and fruits for a more of dessert food. Crepes are always a hit.

So whenever you may be and whenever you may be, make sure that you cater to the season and state where you Wedding will be held. If the food matches the season, then everything at your Wedding will come together beautifully. Happy planning to all of you planning your wonderful Wedding day!

Wedding Catering & Food Ideas

You have to choose your wedding catering supplier with lots of research and care as it is the food you serve at your wedding that will leave a lasting impression in the minds of your guests.

Use the internet, yellow pages or suggestions from friends and family on the best wedding caterers in your locality for your wedding. Sometimes you may have liked the catering at a friend’s wedding; arranging them for your wedding catering too may not be a bad idea. Choose a wedding catering service that is in the locality of your wedding venue so that there will be no delays in traffic for the food to reach your wedding.

Once you have narrowed your search to a few caterers, it would be better for you to taste the food they cook, to get an idea if they will be able to cook the dishes you intend to keep for your wedding. If you have any specifications in your menu, find out if the wedding catering service can meet your requirements.

You have to choose the wedding caterer according to your budget as this will also help you decide on the menu for the wedding. The factors that determine the cost of the catering budget include the menu, the number of guests you invite, if it is to be a drop off or serve event and if you intend to serve alcohol.

It is better to meet the caterer in person and show him the venue so that he or she can assess the kitchen needs and ensure there are no problems behind the scenes. The timing of your wedding catering too will have an impact on the rates of the catering and thus, your budget. rates are of course more expensive during the holiday and wedding season as the wedding caterers will be busier and have the right to make higher quotes for weddings
